The consultation is 15 minutes, free of charge, and can take place by phone or video, depending on your preference.
This isn’t a deep dive or an intake session. There’s no diagnosing or pressure to decide anything right away. My goal is for you to leave the call feeling clearer about next steps and more comfortable moving forward, whether that’s with me or elsewhere.
If we decide to move forward, our first session is typically 60 minutes.
For teens and minors, the intake process usually begins with a parent-only session, where we go over background information and what’s bringing you in. After that, I meet individually with the teen for a similar intake at their level, creating space for them to share in a way that feels comfortable and age-appropriate.
For older teens and young adults, the intake is focused on getting to know you: your experiences, relationships, stressors, and what you’re hoping to work through.
Early sessions are about building a relationship and creating a sense of safety. We spend time getting to know each other, talking through what feels present, and gently beginning to explore the harder stuff — often in a “sandwich” style, where difficult topics are held within connection and support.
I typically recommend starting with 3–4 sessions close together, usually once per week, to build momentum and establish a solid foundation. From there, we can adjust pacing as needed.
